An award-winning marina construction professional, Erik Sanderson has overseen the construction of more than 250 successful marina applications worldwide. The CEO of Technomarine since 2006, Erik Sanderson has led the international marine company in completing projects including Harbourside Jupiter in Florida.
Located in Palm Beach County, Florida, the multi-use Harbourside Jupiter opened in December 2015. Situated along the Intercoastal Waterway, the $160-million project included the construction of restaurants, retailers, a hotel, an amphitheater, and a Riverwalk. Technomarine designed and installed a 31-slip marina whose aesthetic matched the award-winning Riverway to provide access to the area. In addition to meeting unconventional challenges, such as installing decorative tiles on a dock system, the company overcame numerous environmental obstacles.
To preserve the area’s mangroves and seagrass, the company had to secure numerous permits and implement engineering concepts such as graded decking to allow sunlight to reach underwater plants. Additionally, a wall prevented construction run-off from negatively affecting underwater vegetation.
